Beginner Sessions start Monday 15 January – Wick and Thurso

Is your 2018 goal to start running?  Maybe you have read about the Couch to 5k programme and been thinking about trying it, maybe your sight is set on running the Castle of Mey 10k this year. No matter what your running goals are North Highland Harriers (NHH) can help you achieve it.

NHH’s beginner sessions start again on Monday 15 January in both Wick and Thurso. The Wick group meets at Wick Youth Club at 6.00pm and the Thurso group meets at Thurso Squash Club at 6.00pm. Our sessions are free and are led by our experienced Jog Scotland leaders who will be there to support and guide you the entire time.

Everyone is welcome, nobody gets left behind and you will never hold anyone back. The beginners sessions are full of people who have never run before and everyone is supported. The sessions begin with 30 seconds of gentle running followed by 30 seconds of walking and build gradually from there, and before you know it each week you will be running more and walking less. We hope that by running in a group, you will find it easier to turn up each week and make improvements.

Don’t be afraid to come and give the beginners sessions a go, it is completely natural to have a few nerves at the first session, but you will receive a warm welcome, and before you know it the nerves will be gone. All you need is a pair of trainers and a willingness to put your trust in us and yourself in what you can achieve.

If you can’t make the first session on Monday 15 January don’t worry, you can still come along on Monday 22 or Monday 29 January.

We look forward to seeing you there.
