A windy, but dry and relatively bright day for the first trail run of 2023 hosted by NHH Coach Sophie Dunnett.
A healthy total of 35 runners took part in the trail run.
Conditions were very good underfoot, with the only one section being relatively muddy.
In the outward /southward section of the route, the runners were challenged with a headwind channelled by the forest, and a succession of climbs; by contrast, this was rewarded by a tail wind / downhill section after the half way mark.

On behalf of NHH, I’d like to say thanks to: Sophie Dunnett for hosting today’s trail run; to Pauline for assisting with the timing; to Robbie Anderson for marshalling at the road crossing point; and to David MacDonald for marshalling at the turning point / deer gate. Also, thanks to Reay Golf Club for accommodating us for registration and for tea and biscuits at the end.
